Basic Obedience Plus Dog Training
What you and your dog will learn:
Sit on command At your left side, and in front of you.
Stand on command. At your left side.
Down on command. At your left side.
Sit stay; for three minutes, under distractions.
Down stay; for five minutes, under distractions.
Heeling; To walk on your left side, without pulling, walking behind you, or pulling off to the side.
Come when called.
Automatic Sits. the dog will sit each and every time you stop (heeling) moving.
Left turn. The dog will learn to move with you, so you won't fall over your dog.
Right turn. The dog will learn to move with you, so you won't be pulled over by your dog.
Circles left and right. This teaches the beginning of the figure eight. It teaches the dog to pay attention. It also reinforces the dog to moving with you, so you won't fall over your dog, or be pulled off balance.

Behavior Modification and Problem Solving: Such as Jumping on people, Jumping on furniture, digging, mouthing, mounting, and house breaking. While this course is not designed to deal with specific aggression issues it can help establish pack order, instill you as the pack leader, which can help with dominance, fear, or sexual based aggression.
This basic obedience dog training course runs for six weeks, one hour per-week. You must work your dog at home, for thirty (30) minutes each day (two, fifteen minute sessions).
If you miss a class, make-ups are $60.00
each.
If you attend all classes, or paid and made-up any missed class, and your dog still is not performing to your standards. You may attend any basic obedience class, with permission from the instructor providing there is room. Until you are satisfied. At no charge except for missed classes.
If we feel you have not satisfied the requirements for graduation, you will be placed in to another group class, at no charge except for missed classes. Provided you attend all classes, or paid and made-up any missed class. For as long as it takes!
Only the handler and dog named on the application, may work the dog! NO SUBISTITUTION of handlers is permitted.
Scheurman's K9 Academy has a STRICT NO REFUND policy.
Aggressive dogs will be required to wear a Muzzle
No drinking, or Smoking on the training field. No Alcohol or Drugs to be used on training site!
The cost of this course is $169.00 for one handler and one dog. For one dog and two handlers the cost is $300.00.
You can add the American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Certification testing to the above course after you graduate for $70.00 per handler.

We also offer a barter, swap, or trade programs to get you a trained dog. Scheurman's K9 Academy believes that everyone should have the ability to have a trained dog. Chances are you have something we want or need, and that you no longer want or need, could be a tangable item, or service's (time) (professional or amature).

Scheurman’s K9 Academy offers dog training for ALL BREEDS and ALL AGES in Group classes, Private lessons format and or Board and Trains, for Basic Obedience, Intermediate Obedience, Competition Obedience for both the American Kennel Club and the United Kennel Club in Novice, Open, Utility and Rally. We also offer training in Personal Protection, Therapy Dogs, Service Dogs as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Search and Rescue, Cadaver Recovery, Schutzhund, KNPV, NVBK, French Ring. We further offer Canine First Aid and CPR classes, using our canine manikin, Scruffy.
Scheurman’s K9 Academy offers training programs to security, and law enforcement to include Narcotics Interdiction Dogs, Building Search Dogs, Perpetrator Apprehension Dogs, Officer Protection Dogs, Explosive Detection Dogs (Bomb), Accelerant Detection Dogs (arson), Riot Control Dogs, Prisoner Escort dogs, Cell Phone Detection Dogs, and Patrol Dogs.
